"It's Beautiful - to think how significant simple things are. To think that a rose can portray more beauty than a thousand smiling women - and if you can use that beauty in such a way as to help people realise that it exists, then I think you've done your job."
- Sohrab Mirmontazeri

"At the time, the vision wasn't apparent, it was a prospering union between three individuals."

It started with a simple conversation, and progressed into much more than that. "I was inspired. I had never committed to a five hour conversation about life. We spoke about things that would be missed after we're gone. Things that we brush against every day but never take for what it's actually worth," Sohrab Mirmontazeri says, referring to a conversation he had with Tarek McCarthy, the star and co-producer of the film. "He is what inspired me to write."

And so it began - Writer/Director Sohrab Mirmontazeri's quest to show visually, what each of us experience but never realize. The original draft was written in a span of two weeks - constant typing of lyrical poetry to the sounds of Beethoven's finest melodies. A date was set, a festival was found, and a goal was made.

"I wrote the script in hopes of submitting it to the CANNES Film Festival. We had less than a month from the time it was written, to the festival's submission deadline."

It was all work and no play. "I was first introduced to The Beautiful Wind when Sohrab came into my room with a big smile on his face, and a script in his hand," says brother and other co-producer, Alireza Mirmontazeri. "It was a story unlike anything I had ever read."

After Alireza's acceptance into the production of the film, Sohrab approached Tarek McCarthy, who just two weeks earlier sat in a classroom with [Sohrab] studying film and speaking about the beauties of life. He had no idea Sohrab was writing a script inspired by his story - and when introduced with the idea for the film, Tarek accepted and began to give all of himself to the needs of the production.

With all three filmmakers onboard, The Beautiful Wind wrapped principal photography in a mere eight days, and did post production for the following five. "Our first day of shooting was February 25th, and on March 13th we mailed it to France."

"Although we were overlooked at CANNES, we can look back and say that we followed a dream, and in that dream, we've realized more than we ever could have while we were awake."

The Beautiful Wind has continued to receive nationwide acclaim and success throughout many festivals, and MirMont Media is proud to present our audience with a film that could change the way you look at life.
